Our story

Rebels Açaí didn’t begin with a logo, a menu, or even a bowl. It began with a dream of building something of our own.

In 2019, Rebeca studied Business Administration and Entrepreneurship through SEBRAE. At the time, she was already fascinated by the idea of entrepreneurship, by what it meant to create something from the ground up, and by the possibility of one day building a business that truly felt like hers. She just didn’t know yet what that business would be.

That answer came later. After her studies, Rebeca began working in juice bars and, somewhere along the way, açaí stopped being simply something she enjoyed. It became something she fell in love with.

There was something special about the whole experience: preparing a bowl, choosing the right combinations, serving someone, watching them take that first bite, and seeing their reaction. Day after day, what started as a job became part of a much bigger dream.

She would look around and think:

“One day, I want to create something like this, but with our own story behind it.”

Years passed. Life changed. But that dream never disappeared. Eventually, it found a name:

Rebels.

And to understand that name, you have to understand a little bit about us.

We are Christians, and over time, the word rebel began to mean something very different to us. Traditionally, being a rebel can sound like going against what is good. But what happens when the world itself begins moving in a direction you don’t want your heart to follow?

We look around and see a world that is more connected than ever, yet people can feel incredibly distant from one another. A world where being cold can be easier than being vulnerable, where judging can be easier than understanding, and where everyone seems to be rushing somewhere, but fewer people stop to truly see the person in front of them.

And that made us think:

Maybe being a rebel today can mean something beautiful.

Maybe it means refusing to become indifferent. Choosing compassion when it would be easier not to care. Choosing love when bitterness feels justified. Choosing community when isolation has become normal. Choosing faith when fear is louder. Choosing to still believe in people. Choosing to be different.

That is what Rebels means to us. Not rebellion against people, but rebellion against becoming cold, against losing compassion, and against forgetting how powerful it is to serve, to love, to create, and to make someone’s day a little better.

And somehow, it felt perfect that this message would come through something that had already been part of Rebeca’s story for years:

Açaí.

Rebels Açaí is where her first entrepreneurial dream, her years of experience, our faith, and our love for people finally met in the same place. That’s why we care about the details: the texture of the açaí, the fruit, the toppings, the balance of every bowl, the way it looks when we hand it to you, and most importantly, that first spoonful.

Because every bowl carries a piece of a dream that took years to become real.

Maybe you’ll find us because you were craving açaí. Maybe someone will tell you that you have to try it. Maybe the name Rebels will simply make you curious. Whatever brings you here, we hope the first bite makes you want another. But we also hope that, somewhere between the first spoonful and the last, you feel that there is something more behind what we make: a dream, a story, a purpose, and the belief that you don’t always have to follow the direction the world is going.

Sometimes, choosing love is rebellious. Sometimes, choosing compassion is rebellious. Sometimes, simply choosing to remain different is rebellious.

And if that makes us Rebels, we’re proud to be.
